With the completion of the Riverwalk in Oshkosh a few years back, and the desire to host an event in Oshkosh in the Fall, the Lumberjack & Jill was established in 2020. This event celebrates the lumber history of Oshkosh. 2020 featured a 10 mile run, relay and 2 mile walk and the second annual event morphed into a 15k run, relay and 5k run where it will stay.
The Atmosphere
We woke up to a very foggy fall morning. Packet pick-up took place at Dockside Tavern the night before and the morning of the event with pre-race music streamed by our events DJ
The 15k and Relay race kicked off at 8:00am, and the 5k event followed shortly after at a separate start line along 6th Avenue in Oshkosh. Both races started with a chain saw and several runners pulled out their buffalo plaid for the occasion.
