37th Annual Santa Scamper

The 37th Annual Santa Scamper kicked off the Annual Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade on Tuesday, November 23rd. In our opinion, the weather was fantastic for this time of year! 1100 men, women, boys & girls ran, walked and scampered down College Avenue to Jones Park.

The Santa Scamper takes place the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving each November. The race starts shortly before the start of the Appleton Christmas Parade which means that all our participants get to lead the way for the parade down College Avenue past so many community members prepared to enjoy the parade!

Packet pick-up took place Appleton Beer Factory prior to the start of the event with the help of St. Joseph Food Program volunteers. Participants bring non-perishable food donations when they pick-up their race bib and commemorative hat.

Down College Avenue and up into Jones Park – this one-mile race goes by fast. Participants are motivated to receive a Dilly Bar from Appleton Dairy Queens at the finish line. The top 5 men, women, boys and girls receive a Santa Scamper trophy to commemorate their accomplishment.

With the race over so quickly, participants easily make their way back up to College Avenue to enjoy the parade.
