Group Run Participation Agreement & Liability Waiver

By participating in Run Away Shoes Group Runs, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating at my own risk. I understand that running and walking involve inherent risks, including but not limited to falls; collisions with vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians; uneven roads, sidewalks, or trails; weather conditions; wildlife; illness; dehydration; and other unforeseen hazards that may result in serious injury or death.

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Run Away Shoes volunteers or staff to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf or on behalf of myself or my minor child.

I understand that these are open-route group runs, and participants are responsible for obeying all traffic laws, exercising reasonable caution, being aware of surrounding conditions, and making safe decisions throughout the run. I am responsible for determining my own pace, route familiarity, hydration, and fitness level.

I certify that I, or the participant on whose behalf I am signing, am physically able to participate and will stop participating immediately if believed it is unsafe to continue.

In consideration of being allowed to participate, I release, waive, and hold harmless Run Away Shoes, its owners, employees, volunteers, sponsors, partners, host locations, and affiliated organizations from any and all claims, liability, demands, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in these group runs, including those resulting from ordinary negligence to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I grant Run Away Shoes permission to use photographs or video taken during group runs for promotional purposes without compensation.  

Participants under 18 years of age must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate. By signing below as a parent or legal guardian, I certify that I have read and understand this agreement, give permission for my child to participate, and agree to its terms on behalf of myself and my minor child.

This agreement applies to all Run Away Shoes Group Runs attended by the participant through August 31, 2026, unless replaced by a newer agreement.
