After a year apart, we were thrilled with the reappearance of the Appleton Houdini 10k on November 6, 2021! We were especially excited to finish at the newly renovated Jones Park (and offer our participants one lesss hill on the course 😀 ). Whether you have ran the Houdini 10k every year, or this is the first you are hearing of it, we are hopeful this recap gives you a taste of this wonderful 10k event and brings back good memories to those who participated.
The Atmosphere
The Houdini 10k takes place the first weekend of November each year which means we are in full Fall mode: changing leaves, crisp air, and (if we are lucky) bright sunshine still illuminating it all.
Packet pick-up took place in Jones park with the help of the Rotary Club of Appleton in a big tent for the first time in event history. Magicians and Balloon Twisters showed off their tricks & skills to participants awaiting the start of the event.
Participants have an easy walk up the staircase next to packet pick-up to get to the event starting line at Houdini Plaza with a 9am start time. Our events DJ gets everyone ready to roll with an up beat playlist.
